Our route for today is here.
Our cumulative route is here.
Hello all. We’ve resumed our trip southward. We are several hundred miles east of the Continental Divide, and where the actual Continental Divide Trail keeps going south.
The Trail itself ends at Antelope Wells, NM.
We’ve decided to depart from the trail and ride to south Texas where Meredith’s parents are fishing in the Gulf. We can get more riding that way and get a bit of fishing as well.
So, if you’re in this for the Trail, exclusively, then I’m sorry. You’re out of luck from here on down.
Today, we left Valle Vista (our trailer near Eagle Nest, NM) and rode south into the Mora River Valley. The views were very good and the temps were cool.
We made it Las Vegas, NM and out onto the Llano, a tableland of grass that stretches for miles.
There has been ample amounts of rain and the table was very, very green. It was very pretty.
We crossed Interstate 40 in the middle of nowhere and kept boogying south and losing elevation at a fast rate.
And, because of that, the temps kept rising.
Carlsbad was our destination and it was pushing 100 degrees when we rolled into town. Ahh, such is summer riding, at times.
