The Italian summer of 2012

Welcome!  It’s time for another summer escapade!  This time we’re headed for the Italian peninsula to visit the city of Rome and then headed north to “trek” the alps and circumnavigate the Mont Blanc massif.

Meredith and I will explore Rome at our leisure, then, for the third consecutive year, join a group guided by the nice folks at Gadventures that will take us into the Alps.   That tour will last ten days, with the longest day of walking being around 18 miles.

Each day, when possible, we’ll give a quick synopsis of the day’s happenings and sights.  Look for the links of each day at the top of this page.

Also, when we’re hiking, from June 23 to July 2, updates won’t be possible.  So, don’t worry about us!

Our flight leaves Tyler Pounds Field on June 12.  See you then!

When the world’s madness and burning at both ends.  And you can’t breath cause the walls are closing in.  Open up your heart and let the sun shine in.  Take a walk into the wanderin’.
